So you had a rough week. Maybe you have a huge workload piling up, your girlfriend/boyfriend left you, your dog ran away, and worst of all, you can't find your T.V. remote! Man, life has really got you down. But I'm here to cheer you up. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and I'll prove it to you. Today we have some of the best comedies on Netflix to get you out of your slump and back on the road to success. Whatever problems you are dealing with, you can always break out of your funk with a good comedy! The best comedy movies on Netflix are the ones that bring tears to your eyes and that's exactly what we're here to do today.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil
Straight out the gate, we have a classic! Tucker and Dale vs Evil is probably one of the funniest movies on Netflix. Tucker and Dale vs Evil is the story of two friends Tucker and Dale who go on vacation in their dingy cabin. Along the way, they get mistaken for hillbilly murderers by a local group of teens vacationing in the same area. Both Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk are hilarious in their roles and are a perfect comedic match. I'm pretty sure this movie is on everyone's top 10 funniest movies on Netflix. Also, when it comes to the best dark comedies on Netflix, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil stands tall above the rest. I loved the constant back and forth between Tucker and Dale's camp and the teenagers. Every misstep leads to more blood and more bodies. If you're the type that loves seeing blood splattered across faces, you came to the right place. I think we can all agree that B-rate horror comedies are probably the best way to put a smile on our faces after a rough week.
Hot Fuzz
You got to give it to Simon Pegg. He managed to create one of the funniest movies on Netflix. I've heard some people say it's even thee funniest movie on Netflix. Although I'm not sure I can absolutely guarantee you that, I can tell you that Hot Fuzz might just have you rolling on the ground laughing. Super cop Nicholas Angel battles against the townsfolk with his lackluster partner. Hot Fuzz is not only a comedy, it's a great option if you're looking for a good action movie on Netflix. His partner is played by Nick Frost and is hilarious throughout the whole thing. He even manages to loosen Nicholas up by getting him drinking beers and forcing him to watch Bad Boys 2 and Point Break back to back. Now, what could be better than that?
Take Me
Take Me is another great movie by Pat Healy and just so happens to be one of the best comedies on Netflix right now. Take Me stars Pat Healy and Taylor Schilling in an off the wall comedy about a kidnap for hire business. My favorite part of Take Me was that the story was completely original. If you didn't already know, Pat Healy is producing some of the funniest movies on Netflix right now, and I don't see him slowing down anytime soon. Another reason Take Me is one of the good comedy movies on Netflix is because Taylor Schilling plays an excellent role, paying Pat Healy to kidnap her. I thought she even carried the movie better than he did at some points. She carefully plays with your mind and makes you wonder what's really going on in her head. Netflix comedies are rarely original, so take advantage of Take Me.
DeathGasm
DeathGasm is definitely one of the best comedy movies on Netflix! These kids from New Zealand rock out hard and keep the laughs coming the whole time. There are so many scenes in DeathGasm that will have you laughing out loud and it might even be when some evil zombie's head is getting chopped off. Even with all the blood splattered goodness in this horror comedy named DeathGasm, good comedy movies on Netflix need to have a lot more than that to make this Netflix movies list. To make this list, you gotta be "METAL"! And what's more "metal" than a movie named Deathgasm? Looking at that title you know there's gonna be some laughs right? I mean zombies literally get beat to death with dildo's in this movie. If you don't think that's gonna be funny then I guess my movies just aren't for you.
The Trailer Park Boys The Movie
Only a few movies in my life have made me laugh so hard I couldn't stop crying for about 3 minutes. The Trailer Park Boys is one such movie and if that doesn't qualify it for being one of the best comedies on Netflix, I don't know what will. Trailer Park Boys begins with the boys returning from jail only to find out that a new and upgraded trailer park is being built right next to the trailer park they call home. Back on the hunt for money, they devise little plans here and there to make some quick cash, all while avoiding Lahey the park manager. Honestly, I get why people might be a little timid about checking out the Trailer Park Boys. It looks pretty cheesy from the trailers and it doesn't seem like it could possibly be one of the funniest movies on Netflix. But if you give it a shot, you'll find that these guys have a whole lot of character and for their own little world, it works perfectly. The best comedies on Netflix are usually the cult classic films that millions of people can enjoy and this movie is no different. I would be amazed if Trailer Park Boys didn't get you laughing so hard your stomach starts hurting. Lahey's drinking scenes are some of the most ridiculous and hilarious scenes I think I have ever seen. Good comedies on Netflix don't get much better than this.
Housebound
A girl gets sentenced to house arrest in her childhood home after being caught for an attempted robbery. Housebound is easily one of the best comedies on Netflix. What's interesting is that a lot of good comedy movies on Netflix aren't only in the comedy genre. When you watch Housebound it's hard to put it into any category of movie really. The comedy aspect of Housebound is there the entire time but it's just a good film in general with some surprisingly good scares and a pretty creepy plot. Like DeathGasm, Housebound is another gem from New Zealand that most people probably haven't seen yet. When they finally see it, most people find that Housebound is a pleasant surprise because it's not on a lot of people's radars these days. I've been watching Netflix for a long time and I've learned that good Netflix comedies come and go, but Housebound is here to stay.
Kung Fury
They messed with the wrong cop this time! You may be wondering how a mere mortal could wield this type of power. Well, it's actually pretty simple. He was struck by lightning and bit by a cobra at the same time. You know, I've noticed that that's how most good comedy movies on Netflix are made. Now that he has the power, he can master a style of Kung Fu that he alone can master. Kung Fury is utter nonsense and I wouldn't miss watching this movie for the world. And don't worry, the best comedies on Netflix don't have to have serious plots. Kung Fury is just what you need for a pick me up when you're down in the dumps. Every scene is completely ridiculous and you will have no choice but to not take Kung Fury or yourself too seriously.
Mountain Men
Mountain Men is the story of two estranged brothers who come together to take a trip to the family cabin. It's one of the great comedies on Netflix that is just a free-flowing, fun movie to relax to. There's plenty of laughs and it does have a good message about family and also mental illness. Once again Tyler Lebine leads the way in Mountain Men. Somehow or another he seems to be in all the best comedies on Netflix right now. It's always nice to have a funny movie with a good message about life and family. As an added bonus, Mountain Men has some beautiful Canadian scenery which always goes a long way.
Tangerine
So Tangerine definitely isn't for everyone. To be honest, after I watched it, I wasn't sure I should add it to my Netflix list. To my everlasting shame, I thought it was going to be too much for my viewers. But thankfully I remembered that at jamilslist.com I provide quality movies on Netflix no matter how crazy, disturbing, or twisted they can be. Tangerine is a pretty funny movie because of the main character. Sin-Dee is a transgender prostitute fresh out of county and on the hunt for the pimp that betrayed her. She is an undeniably funny character and I'm sure she's gonna end up putting a smile on your face with her street wise attitude. Keep in mind that there are some scenes that I considered incredibly disturbing but as a whole, Tangerine definitely fits into one of the comedy movies on Netflix.
Good comedies on Netflix are never the easiest things to find. I've literally spent years in the hopes of finding a new comedy to cheer me up for the night and I've ended up with nothing more times than I can count. Finding the best movies on Netflix is hard, but finding the best comedies on Netflix is even harder. Even though we all have different tastes, I think we can all agree that when you're down in the dumps, there's nothing better than a good comedy on Netflix to put a smile on our faces.
